DBS operates the TaxPower TDS website and provides product information, sales coordination, trial coordination, implementation, installation assistance, training, first-line support, renewal coordination and related customer-service activities.

2. Relationship Between DBS and Magnum Infosystem

TaxPower TDS is developed and licensed by Magnum Infosystem Pvt. Ltd.

Dharankar Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is a primary dealer of TaxPower software and provides sales coordination, implementation, training and first-line customer support.

Magnum’s role includes, as applicable:

  • developing TaxPower TDS;
  • issuing or operating the underlying software licence;
  • issuing the customer invoice for the software licence;
  • controlling licence activation and renewal under its licensing system;
  • providing developer-level and product-level support.

Relevant customer or prospect information may therefore be shared with Magnum where reasonably required for quotation, licensing, activation, renewal, product support or related customer administration.

3. Information We May Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

TaxPower TDS may separately require customers to store compliance identifiers and Government-portal credentials within the customer’s own installed software/database environment so that relevant compliance workflows can function. Those locally stored credentials and compliance data are not collected by DBS merely because they are saved in TaxPower TDS. See Section 12 below.

Live Demo and Trial Requests

We may collect:

  • name;
  • organisation or firm name;
  • mobile number;
  • email address;
  • city;
  • edition interest;
  • approximate TANs managed;
  • information included in your requirement or message.

Purchase and Commercial Requests

We may collect:

  • name;
  • organisation or firm name;
  • mobile number;
  • email address;
  • city;
  • requirement type;
  • product or package required;
  • usage or customer type;
  • Additional Client PC requirement;
  • quotation or proforma-invoice reference;
  • purchase requirement or message.

Trial, Licence and Activation Information

Where relevant to registration, licensing or activation, information may include:

  • contact-person details;
  • organisation or firm details;
  • postal address;
  • GSTIN, where applicable;
  • mobile number;
  • email address;
  • Machine ID;
  • IP address;
  • Licence ID and other licence-related information.

The precise information involved may differ according to the applicable trial, installation, licence, activation or support process.

4. Website Forms

When you submit a form on taxpowertds.com, your submitted information may be:

  1. stored in the website’s form-submission system;
  2. sent by email to authorised DBS personnel; and
  3. used to send you an acknowledgement relating to your request.

Website forms may also record limited technical information associated with a submission, such as:

  • IP address;
  • browser or user-agent information;
  • submission date and time;
  • source page or referrer;
  • form or action information.

We may use this information for enquiry handling, operational administration, security, record keeping and troubleshooting.

5. Purpose-Specific Contact

When you submit a Live Demo, trial or purchase request, we use the information you provide to respond to and manage that request.

This may include contact by:

  • telephone;
  • email;
  • messaging channels;
  • authorised customer-support or communication systems.

An enquiry or service-request acknowledgement is not treated by itself as unrestricted consent for unrelated promotional marketing.

Where separate consent or an opt-out mechanism is required for future marketing activities, it will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

6. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries;
  • arrange a Live Demo;
  • coordinate a 90-Day Assisted Trial;
  • understand product, edition or package requirements;
  • prepare or coordinate quotations or proforma invoices;
  • conduct reasonable sales follow-up;
  • coordinate purchases and payments;
  • coordinate licensing and activation;
  • assist with implementation and installation;
  • provide onboarding and training;
  • provide first-line customer support;
  • escalate appropriate technical issues;
  • coordinate renewals;
  • maintain customer relationships;
  • communicate service, licensing, renewal or support information;
  • maintain commercial, accounting and customer records;
  • investigate complaints or disputes;
  • protect our systems and detect misuse or security incidents;
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, court or Government requirements.

We seek to use personal information for purposes reasonably connected with the interaction or relationship for which it was obtained.

7. Customer Relationship and Communication Systems

Information from website enquiries and customer interactions may be recorded in customer relationship management, email, messaging, support or other authorised business systems used by DBS.

These systems may be used for:

  • lead and enquiry management;
  • follow-up;
  • customer communication;
  • purchase coordination;
  • renewals;
  • support;
  • customer relationship management.

We may use authorised service providers to support these activities.

8. Sharing With Magnum Infosystem

DBS may share with Magnum Infosystem Pvt. Ltd. the customer, organisation and licence-related information reasonably required for purposes such as:

  • quotation or proforma-invoice processing;
  • customer invoicing;
  • review of customer type and appropriate Professional or Corporate Edition classification;
  • product registration;
  • licensing and licence administration;
  • licence activation;
  • renewal.

Magnum is involved because it develops, licenses and sells TaxPower TDS and operates the underlying licensing and renewal arrangements.

Except for information required for software licensing, activation, renewal and related licence administration, TaxPower TDS does not, as part of its normal software operation, automatically transmit, sync or share the customer’s routine compliance data or saved Government-portal credentials with DBS or Magnum.

If a customer separately requests technical support and knowingly authorises remote access or provides a relevant file or database for troubleshooting, DBS or Magnum may access the information visible or contained in that authorised support material to the extent reasonably necessary for the support purpose. This is separate from normal software operation and is not an automatic data sync.

9. Other Service Providers and Disclosures

We may use authorised providers supporting functions such as:

  • website hosting and operation;
  • form processing;
  • email delivery;
  • customer relationship management;
  • authorised communication and messaging;
  • remote support;
  • online meetings;
  • security;
  • technical administration.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to professional advisers, auditors, insurers, banks or payment providers, courts, regulators, law-enforcement authorities or Government agencies where required or permitted by applicable law.

We do not treat information submitted for a TaxPower TDS enquiry as permission to sell that information to unrelated advertisers.

10. Trial and Licence Activation

A TaxPower TDS trial or licensed installation may require additional registration, machine or licensing information.

DBS may assist in collecting, coordinating or transmitting the information required for the applicable trial or licence process.

Magnum ultimately controls or provides the underlying TaxPower TDS licence activation process.

11. Remote Support and Troubleshooting

DBS generally provides first-line support.

Where remote assistance is required, support may be provided using UltraViewer, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or another suitable support or meeting tool.

Remote access occurs with the customer’s knowledge and authorisation. Where remote access is provided:

  • the customer supplies temporary session access;
  • the customer may terminate the session;
  • access should be limited to what is reasonably required for support;
  • the customer should retain control of passwords, OTPs and Digital Signature Certificates;
  • customers should not permanently disclose authentication credentials.

DBS does not routinely retain customer databases, screenshots or backups for its own storage.

If a matter cannot be resolved by DBS, it may be escalated to Magnum.

For complex technical troubleshooting, Magnum may request a relevant customer database or file, directly or through DBS. Any such transfer should occur with the customer’s knowledge or authorisation and for the purpose of investigating or resolving the issue.

12. Customer Software, Compliance Data and Portal Credentials

TaxPower TDS is installed compliance software rather than a general browser-based cloud service.

A customer’s substantive TDS/TCS records and related compliance data are primarily maintained in the TaxPower TDS software/database environment configured at the customer’s location or within the customer-controlled system environment.

For relevant compliance workflows to function, TaxPower TDS may require the customer to save Government-portal credentials and statutory or business identifiers in the customer’s TaxPower TDS database/environment. Depending on the workflow, these may include Government-portal User IDs, passwords, PAN, TAN, GSTIN and other identifiers or information required for the applicable compliance process.

Except for software licence, activation, renewal and related licence-administration information, these locally stored compliance records and portal credentials are not automatically transmitted, synced or shared with DBS or Magnum as part of normal TaxPower TDS operation.

DBS providing implementation, training or support does not mean that DBS centrally stores every customer’s TaxPower TDS database or routinely receives the customer’s saved portal credentials.

Where the customer requests support, the customer may separately authorise remote access or provide a relevant file/database for troubleshooting. In that situation, DBS or Magnum may access information visible during the authorised session or contained in the material knowingly provided for the support purpose. Such support access is distinct from automatic software syncing.

Customers remain responsible for appropriate access control, authorised use, security and backup practices for their own software environment, compliance data and stored credentials.

13. Cookies and Website Technologies

The website may use necessary or functional cookies and similar technologies to support matters such as:

  • website operation;
  • security;
  • form functionality;
  • session management;
  • performance and technical administration.

If additional analytics, advertising or behavioural technologies are introduced, we will update the applicable disclosures and implement consent or choice mechanisms where required by applicable law.

A separate Cookie Policy may be introduced if the technologies actually deployed or applicable legal requirements make one appropriate.

14. Retention

We retain information for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it is held, or for a longer or shorter period where required or permitted by applicable law.

Relevant retention purposes may include:

  • handling enquiries;
  • reasonable follow-up;
  • trial and licensing activities;
  • ongoing customer relationships;
  • renewals;
  • support;
  • accounting, tax and commercial records;
  • legal and regulatory obligations;
  • disputes and claims;
  • fraud prevention and security.

Different categories of information may therefore have different retention periods.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it should be deleted, anonymised or otherwise managed in accordance with applicable law and DBS’s retention practices.

15. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, operational and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, misuse or disclosure.

Measures may include, as appropriate:

  • access restrictions;
  • system and account security;
  • website and server security;
  • secure communications configuration;
  • backups;
  • logging;
  • security monitoring;
  • operational procedures.

No electronic system or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore do not make an absolute guarantee that a security incident can never occur.

Where a cyber-security incident triggers a statutory reporting requirement, we will address the matter in accordance with applicable law.

16. Your Requests and Rights

Subject to applicable law and the circumstances of the request, you may contact us regarding:

  • review of personal information you have provided;
  • correction of inaccurate or deficient information;
  • withdrawal of consent where that right applies;
  • deletion or erasure where available under applicable law;
  • questions about use or disclosure of your information;
  • privacy grievances.

Some information may need to be retained because of:

  • licensing;
  • accounting;
  • legal obligations;
  • transaction records;
  • disputes;
  • fraud or security requirements;
  • other lawful retention grounds.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection framework is being brought into operation in phases. Additional rights and obligations under that framework will apply when and to the extent the relevant statutory provisions become operative.

18. Children’s Information

TaxPower TDS is intended for professional, business and organisational use and the website is not directed at children.

We do not knowingly seek TaxPower TDS sales, Demo, Trial or purchase enquiries from children.

If you believe that a child has provided information to us inappropriately, please contact the Grievance Officer.

19. Third-Party and Government Services

TaxPower TDS and the website may involve or link to independent systems or services including:

  • Income Tax Department systems;
  • TRACES;
  • payment providers;
  • communication platforms;
  • remote-support or meeting tools;
  • other Government or third-party websites.

Those services are operated independently and may have their own privacy policies, terms and security practices.

DBS does not control the privacy or security practices of independent Government or third-party systems.

20. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy if our website, business processes, products, technologies or legal obligations change.

The current version will be made available on the Privacy Policy page of taxpowertds.com.

The applicable effective or revision date will be displayed on this page.

Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will address that requirement accordingly.
